Water & Wastewater

Harmonic analysis, arc-flash studies, and SCADA-aware electrical engineering for water and wastewater utilities.

Overview

Water and wastewater treatment runs on pumps and VFDs, and those VFDs create harmonic distortion that damages transformers, trips capacitor banks, and burns out neutrals. Every pump station is also an arc-flash exposure point for operators. We engineer the full electrical envelope and the studies that keep it safe.

What makes this market different

Sector-specific challenges

VFD harmonics

Process VFDs distort voltage and current. We measure with PQ recorders, model in ETAP, and design filters or specify K-factor transformers that bring distortion back into IEEE 519 compliance.

Arc-flash exposure on pump-station equipment

Operators interact with energized equipment routinely. NFPA 70E-compliant labeling and PPE specification reduces the risk.

SCADA and instrumentation power

Instrumentation and SCADA panels must ride through power events that the rest of the facility can survive. We engineer dedicated power for them.

Aging infrastructure

Many treatment plants are operating on equipment installed in the 1970s. Studies expose adequacy issues; design phases the replacement.
