Data Center & Mission-Critical
Power-system analysis, redundancy modeling, and critical-power engineering for high-availability facilities.
Overview
Data center power systems live or die by their ability to ride through every failure mode without dropping load. We model 2N, 2(N+1), and distributed redundant topologies; verify selectivity through every transfer; size UPS, generator, and battery systems for the actual IT load profile; and produce the documentation a Tier III or Tier IV commissioning agent will demand. We work directly with white-space designers, MEP firms, and GC partners like Turner Construction on facility builds and retrofits.
What's included
Scope of work
Topology selection and one-line development (N, N+1, 2N, 2(N+1))
UPS sizing for IT load with proper diversity and growth assumptions
Generator and paralleling switchgear sizing
Battery sizing per IEEE 485 / IEC 60896
Load flow, short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash for all operating modes
Tier III / Tier IV documentation per Uptime Institute
Concurrent maintainability verification
Methodology
How the engagement runs
A consistent process means predictable timelines, fewer surprises, and a defensible record if anyone (AHJ, insurance, OSHA) asks how the work was done.
- 01
Topology and redundancy modeling
Failure-mode analysis on each proposed topology before equipment sizing begins.
- 02
Sizing and selection
UPS, generator, battery, and switchgear sized against the actual IT growth curve, not nameplate IT load.
- 03
Studies
Load-flow, short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash run for every operating mode including maintenance bypass.
- 04
Documentation
Tier certification documentation, commissioning script, and operations runbook prepared.
- 05
Commissioning support
On-site through Level 4 / Level 5 site integration and IST.
Stamped
100%
Every deliverable PE-stamped by a licensed engineer in the project state. Across all 24 registered states.
