Power System Studies

Load Flow Analysis

Steady-state power-flow studies that verify voltage regulation, conductor sizing, and transformer loading at every operating mode.

Overview

Load flow tells you whether your facility will operate within design limits at every plausible loading and switching scenario: full-load summer peak, partial-load emergency mode, generator-only operation. We model the system in ETAP or EasyPower, evaluate voltage at every bus, transformer and cable loading at every branch, and identify violations of ANSI C84.1 voltage limits or thermal capacity before they manifest as field problems.

What's included

Scope of work

Full-load, partial-load, and emergency-mode load-flow cases

Voltage regulation evaluation at every bus per ANSI C84.1

Transformer, cable, and busway loading evaluation

Power factor and reactive demand assessment

Capacitor / reactor sizing recommendations

PE-stamped report with results tables and one-line annotations

Methodology

How the engagement runs

A consistent process means predictable timelines, fewer surprises, and a defensible record if anyone (AHJ, insurance, OSHA) asks how the work was done.

  1. 01

    Load survey

Installed and projected loads compiled by zone with diversity factors applied.

  2. 02

    Scenario definition

Operating modes defined: normal, generator-on-utility-off, partial bus, and so on.

  3. 03

    Simulation

Newton-Raphson load flow run for each scenario in ETAP or EasyPower.

  4. 04

    Compliance review

Bus voltages and branch loading compared to ANSI C84.1, equipment ratings, and NEC ampacity.

  5. 05

    Recommendations

Conductor up-sizing, tap-changer adjustments, or PF correction recommended where needed.

Stamped

100%

Every deliverable PE-stamped by a licensed engineer in the project state. Across all 24 registered states.
